Incarvillea delavayi, commonly known as hardy gloxinia or Chinese trumpet flower, is a species of perennial flowering plant in the family Bignoniaceae. Native to China, particularly in the Yunnan province, it is widely cultivated for its beautiful trumpet-shaped flowers.
This plant typically grows to a height of about 2 to 3 feet (60 to 90 centimeters) and produces lush foliage with large, deeply lobed leaves. The most striking feature of Incarvillea delavayi is its showy flowers, which are borne on tall spikes and come in shades of pink, lavender, or white. Each flower has a trumpet-like shape with flared petals, giving it an elegant and exotic appearance.
Hardy gloxinia is well-suited to temperate gardens and thrives in full sun to partial shade, preferring moist, well-drained soil. It is a hardy perennial, meaning it can withstand cold temperatures and will return year after year in suitable climates.
Incarvillea delavayi is popular among gardeners for its long-lasting and colorful blooms, which can brighten up the garden from late spring to early summer. It is often used in borders, rock gardens, or mixed perennial beds to add a splash of color and exotic flair. Hardy in zones 5-7.

Water the mixture so that it is moist but not wet. 6. Place the pots in an area in full sun or part shade. 7. When the seedlings are a few inches tall, they can be transplanted.
