The Hardy Gloxinia is a perennial plant in the trumpet vine family that has fern-like leaves and showy pink flowers. Also called the flowering fern. Native to China. Hardy in zones 5-7.

It is easily grown in medium, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. It prefers deep, moist, sandy soils and full sun. 1. Make a mixture of half potting soil and half sand, perlite or vermiculite. 2. Put the soil in a pot. 3. Put the seeds on the soil. 4. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil. 5. Water the mixture so that it is moist but not wet. 6. Place the pots in an area in full sun or part shade. 7. When the seedlings are a few inches tall, they can be transplanted.
