Aesculus hippocastanum, commonly called the horse chestnut, is a grand deciduous tree celebrated for its imposing stature, ornamental beauty, and long history of cultivation in temperate regions. Native to the mountainous Balkan Peninsula but now widely planted across Europe, North America, and beyond, it typically grows 20–30 meters tall with a dense, rounded crown supported by a sturdy trunk and thick, fissured gray-brown bark.
