Yucca rostrata, commonly known as Beaked Yucca, is a striking evergreen plant native to the Chihuahuan Desert of Texas and northern Mexico. It features a dense, symmetrical rosette of narrow, bluish-gray leaves that form atop a tall, single trunk, giving it a distinctive tree-like appearance. The leaves are stiff, sword-shaped, and radiate outward in a spherical crown, often creating a sculptural focal point in arid landscapes. In late spring to early summer, it produces tall flower spikes bearing clusters of creamy white, bell-shaped blossoms that attract pollinators. Extremely drought-tolerant and low-maintenance, Yucca rostrata thrives in well-drained soils and full sun, making it a popular choice for xeriscaping and desert-themed gardens.
